Part time or full time for the right candidate

Since opening earlier this year, Huzzah has been steadily building a reputation for its venue, energy, food, drinks and hospitality. Now we’re ready for the next stage, dialling up the beer experience even further.

We’re looking for a Beer Champion to join the crew and help shape Huzzah into a new beacon for independent beer culture.

You’ll work closely with owner Steve Jeffares, co-founder of Stomping Ground Brewing Co, GABS Festival and The Local Taphouse, while reporting to the Bar Manager day-to-day.

The role

Weekend work is required. You’ll be hands-on behind the bar across beer, wine, cocktails and everything in between, while helping curate and evolve a cracking 15 to 20 tap list across a wide range of styles.

You’ll help keep the beer offer fresh with regular new releases, maintain quality across clean lines, fresh kegs and great pours, build relationships with independent breweries, support pricing and procurement, develop beer training for the team, and help dream up fun, memorable beer events.

You’ll also play a key role in introducing and championing a hand pump at Huzzah.

You

You have strong hospitality experience and have probably worked in venues with an independent beer focus, such as a brewpub, taproom or beer bar.

You froth the froth, but you’re not a beer snob. You love creating great experiences for people, wherever they’re at, and you know your way around beer styles, breweries, draft systems and what makes a great pour.

You’re confident behind the bar, can train a team without sounding like a textbook, care about the details and know how to keep things fun.

Certified or Advanced Cicerone accreditation is a bonus, not a dealbreaker.
